Mary Jo Rinck Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Joan "Mary Jo" Rinck, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandma & great grandma, who peacefully left this world on April 8, 2024, at the age of 89.  Mary Jo was born on March 12, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Maximillian and Marguerite (nee Heink) Vogelsang. She graduated Seton High School class of 1953 and met the love of her life David Rinck.  They married on July 9, 1955, and they started their family.  They were blessed with 7 children: Kathleen, Janet, Michelle, Mike, Mary, Andrew, and Daniel.

Throughout her life, Mary's unwavering dedication to her family was evident in every aspect of her being. As her husband pursued his dream of owning a farm in Milan/Sunman, IN, Mary stood by his side, working tirelessly both on the farm and in maintaining their home in Cincinnati. Her days were filled with caring for her children, managing household responsibilities, and supporting their various activities and academic endeavors. After they raised their family, they moved to the Indiana area and became active in the community.  Mary Jo had a deep faith and was a founding member of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross in Bright.

Despite her busy schedule, Mary found solace in Friday night’s spent playing volleyball with friends from St. William's and engaging in playful activities with children in the neighborhood. Her warmth and kindness extended to all who knew her, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment wherever she went.

Known for her calm and peaceful demeanor, Mary Jo found joy in family gatherings and creating lasting memories with her loved ones.  She cherished the time traveling with David to visit family in Germany and her selfless nature and genuine care for others were the hallmarks of her character, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those left to cherish her legacy are her loving husband David Rinck; beloved children: Kathleen (Jim) Vanden Eynden, Janet (Jerry) Schnieders, Michelle (Bob) Herling, Mike (Judy) Rinck, Mary (Doug) Kammer, Andrew (LeeAnn) Rinck, Daniel (Michelle) Rinck; cherished grandchildren: Sarah (Charlie) Knutson, Matthew (Jenny) Vanden Eynden, Jessica (Adam) Webb, Jenna (Chris) Denlinger, Jacob (Meghan) Schnieders, Heather (Jim) Jauch, Anna (Chris) Florkey, Bobby Herling, Melissa Rinck, David (Amanda) Rinck, Caroline (Mike) Ferneding, Daniel (Holli) Kammer, Joani (Danny) Radcliffe, Elizabeth (Dan) Taylor, Kayleigh Rinck, Andrea Rinck, Andrew Rinck, Sylvia (Kevin) King, Abigail (Zach) Bosell, Maxwell Rinck, Kitty Rinck, and Nick Rinck;  24 great grandchildren and one on the way; dear brother: Greg (Chris) Vogelsang and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
