Carl Bain Obituary

Carl Francis Bain, a beloved member of the community and a dedicated veteran, passed away on March 18, 2024, at the age of 81. Carl was born on December 11, 1942, in Cincinnati to Forest Russell and Rachel (nee Combs) Bain. Carl grew up on West Road in Blue Jay and graduated William Henry Harrison High School. While in high school he started working at Cincinnati Incorporated mowing lawn and then after graduating he joined the military and served in the US ARMY serving from May 15, 1964, to May 10, 1966, and 7 months, 27 days in Vietnam War as a Radio Operator. After returning from the Military, he went to work for Cincinnati Incorporated and worked his way up to a technical specialist for powder metal presses. Carl was well known in the industry and traveled all over the world working on machinery that Cincinnati Incorporated made.  He retired and started his consulting company in the industry.

Carl and Kathie lived in Bright for many years while raising their children.  He was always bragging about his vegetable garden and his delicious tomatoes. The only other thing he bragged about was his children and grandchildren's accomplishments.  He loved watching them and cheering them on at sporting events. He always loved cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and Xavier Musketeers.

Throughout his life, Carl was active in various veterans' organizations, including the VFW and American Legion. He served as Commander at the VFW Post 7570 and District 4 Commander, where he was known for his dedication to visiting fellow veterans at the VA hospital. Carl was also an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling the world with his wife Kathie. Travels to see family were always on the top of his list and memories from those trips brought smiles to his face even when his dementia came into play.

Carl's compassionate nature and quiet demeanor endeared him to all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, fried chicken (in a cooler), and tending to his prized vegetable garden. His legacy of service, both in the military and the community, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Kathie Bain, parents: Forest & Rachel (nee Combs) Bain; siblings: Fred, David (Linda), Billy and Charlie Bain & in-law: Keith Quail & Jerry Hudepohl.

Those that are left to carry on his legacy are his loving children and their spouses: Karen (Chris) Marx, Tommy (Aly) Bain, Jimi (Bridgette) Bain, Rusty (Kristin) Bain and Suzanne (Justin) Wesling; cherished grandchildren: Kyle, Hannah & Eric Marx, Carter, Natalie & Landon Bain, Kelsey & Austin Bain, Emily, Alex & Megan Wesling; Siblings: Ann Lee Quail, Forest (Bonnie) Bain; In-laws: Jorgianna Bain, Pattie Hudepohl, Don (Jean) McElroy, Bob (Joyce) McElroy, Bill (Jana) McElroy, Mike (Francesca) McElroy, Mimi Wright, Terry (Kathy) McElroy.  Also survived by many nieces, and nephews.
