Willine Rutledge Obituary

Willine H. (nee Hackett) Rutledge, passed away August 9, 2014 in Oconto Falls, WI at the age of 90, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Rutledge; loving mother of Susan (James) Stapleton, Jack (Colleen), David (Marjorie) and the late Michael Rutledge; and delighted Grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren.

Willine was a resident of Harrison, Ohio for over 50 years, and her heart remained there even when she needed to leave. Gardening and animals were her joy, with award-winning flower gardens and a lifelong assortment of loved animal companions. And of course, her family, both near and far - husband, children, grandchildren, close and distant cousins. She loved nothing more than the chaos of having a houseful of her children and grandchildren together, or her biannual family reunions around the country.

Burial will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of her life will be held at On September 14 at 1PM at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Memorial contributions may be made to her favorite cause, The Humane Society of the United States. Make check payable to Charity and then mail to Brater-Winter Funeral Home and they will notify the family and send donation in Willine's memory to charity.

Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
Mary Frye (1932)
