Thomas J Loper

Thomas J. Loper Sr., age 76, Resident of Sayler Park, passed away on October 7, 2017. He was born on July 28, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to William and Margaret (nee Eckler) Loper. He was the middle brother of Margie and Shirley. Tom married Ramona Shackelford on July 2, 1958. They were blessed with three children. Tom worked as a on the road truckdriver and was a member of the Teamster Local #100 and former business representative for the Union. He retired after 31.7 years. Tom enjoyed boating, fishing, riding around in his golf cart and always loved a good argument. The Reds, Bengals and Elder also lost a great fan to cheer for them. Tom and Ramona did a lot of volunteering for Eden Chapel United Methodist Church, Block Kitchen Café and Pristine Nursing Homes (formerly Three Rivers Nursing Home). Tom loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents: William and Margaret Loper, his son: Thomas Loper Jr., grandson Ralph Jones III, and his two sisters and their husbands: Margie (Art) Barber & Shirley (Carl) Harrell.
Those left to honor Tom's life is his devoted wife Ramona (nee Shackelford) Loper; dear daughters: Constance "Connie" Jones, and Teresa"Teri" (Alvin) Jordan. Loving grandchildren: Christina Jones, T.J. Loper III, John Thomas Loper, Richard "Ricky" (Tara Fritz), Derek (Megan) Nixon, Joshua (Jaymee Hayden) and Davon Jordan; Great Grandchildren: Victor Loper, Mauriahanna & Gianna Nixon, Lilly & Emmet Nixon and Caden.

Visitation will be Wed., Oct. 11, 2017 from 6 PM to 9 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave., Sayler Park. With Masonic Services at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Thurs. Oct. 12, 2017 at St. Aloysius on the Ohio, Sayler Park. In lieu of flowers donations to Free Store Food Bank. You may bring your donation to the visitation or the mass and give to a funeral home representative. If you are unable to attend then mail your donation to the funeral home (make check payable to Free Store Food Bank).
