Robert Dunevant Obituary

Robert S. Dunevant, age 95 of West Harrison, IN. Passed away on February 4, 2016 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

He was born May 3, 1920 in Yellow Springs, Ohio to the late Earl and Maud (nee Muffler) Dunevant. He worked two years to save enough money to put himself through Ohio State University. He graduated and then went into the service. He served in the US Army as Airborne Field Artillery Unit Commander during WWII. After the service he went to Wisconsin School of Banking. He married Helen Squires and they were blessed with three children: Susan, Don & Mark. Robert was a hard worker and enjoyed working in the banking industry. He started in 1947 and he moved to Harrison shortly after to work at the First National Bank. He also had ties with Peoples Trust, Union Bank & Trust, Key Bank and Farmers & Merchants (some of these banks are known as Main Source Bank today.) Robert enjoyed playing Bridge and also loved reading non fiction books. He touched the Logan, Bright, & Harrison Community in many ways since 1950. He was Active in the Bright Lions Club, Dearborn Hills UMC, and was instrumental in the Public Library in Logan, and bringing the North Dearborn Village to the Bright area. Robert had a sense of humor and also liked traveling with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife Helen (nee Squires) Dunevant. Dear children: Susan Carson, Don (Betsy) and Mark (Cathy) Dunevant. Cherished grandchildren: Laura (Zach) Tucker, Mathew, Rachel, Robert, Sarah and Daniel Dunevant. Preceded in death by his sisters: Jean Henderson & Janice Peterson and a brother.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5 to 8 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Funeral Service will be held 10 AM on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Dearborn Hills UMC, 25365 Stateline Rd., Lawrenceburg, IN 47025. Memorials may be made to the Dearborn Hills UMC Memorial Fund through the funeral hom. Bring your memorial to the visitation and give to a funeral home representative. If unable to attend mail your check payable to the Church to the funeral home. They will notify the family of your donation.
