Richard W. Becknell. Age 79 of Sayler Park. Passed away on March 14, 2015 at Hospice of Western Hills. He was born on June 4, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Shelby Isaac and Lela Jane (nee Covington) Becknell. He married Maureen Masterson on May 1, 1954 and they were blessed with three children: Connie, Shari and David. Richard was a engineer for CG&E for 41 years and retired in 1994. After retirement he went to work as a bus driver for Klug for a few years. Richard was a member of the Northbend Masons Lodge #346 and was a Syrian Color Guard. He was also member of Eden Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 61 years: Maureen (nee Masterson) Becknell. Wonderful daughters: Connie (Richard) McCoy, Shari (Larry) Rogers, Beloved grandchildren: Todd (Nikki) McCoy, Erin (Doug) Loftus, Brad (Jennifer) McCoy, Evan (Elizabeth) Rogers and Megan Rogers and great grandchildren: Owen & Oliver Rogers, Addison & Cooper Loftus, Landon & Grayson McCoy. Also survived by a brother Clyde Becknell and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, a son David W. Becknell in 1985, grandson Kyle Rogers in 2011, great grandson Wyatt Rogers in 2011, siblings: Robert, Virginia, Mary Agnes, Ruth and Ralph Becknell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave., Sayler Park, OH 45233. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11 AM Eden Chapel UMC, 150 Dahlia Ave., Sayler Park. Followed by Graveside services at 12:15 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Burns Institute or Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
