Patricia Burchfield Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Ann Burchfield (nee Stone), passed away Saturday evening, 11/15/2014. She was at home surrounded by many of the people whose lives she has touched and who loved her dearly. She will always be remembered by many including her husband Frank (Johnny), her three sons: Don, Frank and Steve; daughters-in-law: Jenny, Penny and Loralyn; grand daughters-in-law: Amy, Laurie, Candy and Natasha; her 9 grandchildren: Nico, Scott, Joseph, Ashley, Brian, Jason, Ericka, Peyton and Jamie; and her 8 great grandchildren: Chance, Tyler, Adrianna, Emily, Adam, Kyle, Hope and Dara.

Pat was born in 1931 in Dayton, KY to a family of 6 siblings, John, Virginia, Jim, Dorothy, Mary, and Thomas. She is survived by two of her sisters, Dorothy and Virginia. She lived in northern KY until 1960 when she, with her family, moved to Harrison. Mom loved having a house and loved her community and shared friendship with many in Harrison over the years. It is a family joke that a trip to Kroger's for a loaf of bread takes 2 hours because she would always see someone who knew her and a long conversation would follow. Outside her home, Patricia worked for many years in the billing department at the H&S Poque company in Cincinnati. She also worked for Campbell Hausfeld and Skyline Chili in Harrison.

Pat loved camping and traveling. She and her husband had many camping trailers through the years. So many weekends and vacations in the warmer months would find them sitting around a campfire at any one of the many park's and campgrounds they visited. She enjoyed traveling to new places and seeing new things. She said a couple of her favorite vacations were Hawaii and the cruises she took. She also loved combining travel with another big passion in her life, UK Wildcats Basketball. She and Frank would take bus trips to see games and meet new friends. Throw in a casino somewhere along the way and mom would be gleeful.

Mom, grandma, granny will be remembered most for all the life she shared. Her love and caring touched many generations both in her family and community. Frank, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her "Little Sisters"and friends will not forget her love. When we smell a campfire, hear the sound of a slot machine, see UK blue or touch someone's life we will always remember.
