Melvin R., AGE 71. Resident of Crosby Township. Passed away at his home on Sunday, May 10, 2015.
He was born in Hamilton Ohio on May 20, 1943 to Byron & Alma (nee Haas) Knollman and had 3 siblings: William, Norman & Carol. Melvin graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in the Class of 1961. He married Margaret Jean Lail and they have 4 children: Melissa, Scott, Neil & Adam. Melvin loved baseball & softball, and was a director of COBA. He was also a member of the Masons & Scottish Rite. Melvin was over a 50 year member of Crosby United Methodist Church and most recently a member of Miami Whitewater UMC. His family will remember his extremely strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. He taught his children & grandchildren to always be very prompt, and on time. Melvin was also known to be very particular about his vehicles, and made sure to tell his family to always, "Keep your car clean." His greatest love was his family, and he will be missed dearly.
Those surviving who will honor his memory are his loving wife of over 52 years: Jean (nee Lail); devoted children: Melissa (Dan) Diersing, Scott (Sheila), Neil (Penny) and Adam (Rachel) Knollman; cherished grandchildren: Erica & Michael Knollman, Alex, Claire & Cole Diersing, Lindsay & Trent Knollman, Carter, Reese & Drew Knollman; beloved in-law's: Ervan "Buck" & Rosemary Lail; wonderful siblings: William (Shirley) Knollman, Norman Knollman, and Carol (Gary) Colegate; & sisters-in-law: Judy (Frank) Linkmeyer & Debbie (Val) McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Byron & Alma (nee Haas) Knollman; and sister-in-law: Carol Knollman.
Visitation will be Friday, May 15, 2015 from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM at Miami Whitewater UMC, 9700 Dry Fork Rd., Harrison, OH.

If you are unable to attend then mail your donation to the Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030.
