Martha L Mason

Martha L. (nee Stewart) Mason, Resident of Addyston, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the age of 85. Martha was born on February 22, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Eugene and Irene (nee Oehms) Stewart. She was one of 9 children of Eugene and Irene. Martha won the heart of Thomas Mason and they were married on April 25, 1955. They were blessed with 8 children: Rhea, Thomas, Chris, James, Roger, Daniel, Kathy and Mandy. Martha loved her family and was the rock that kept their crazy house on task. She was selfless and always went out of her way to do for others before herself. Martha enjoyed making others laugh and she had a smile that was contagious. She was a good cook and loved nature. Martha loved being in the garden, camping, playing shuffleboard with Tom, and was a good golfer too. ALS got the best of her physical body over the past 3 years but her family helped her through this and now she is at peace. Martha was the spiritual leader of her family and didn't miss church in 62 years until she physically wasn't able to attend Mass earlier this year.

Those left to carry on her legacy are her loving husband of 62 yrs: Thomas Mason; devoted children: Rhea Mason, Thomas (Carol) Mason, Chris Mason, James Mason, Roger (Sandy) Mason, Daniel (Julie Weide) Mason, Kathy (Steve) Wills, and Mandy (Matt) Davidson; 13 Cherished Grandchildren: Cliff Williams, Ryan Williams, Thomas III Mason, Trisha Mason, Jennifer Behrendt, Alex Mason, Amanda Young, Kyle Young, Kevin Mason, Chad Mason, Dennis Wills, and Rachel Davidson; 8 Great Grandchildren: Isabella & Sophia Williams, Kennedy & Kameron Williams, Chloe Mason, Carson, Gavin & Ava Behrendt; Dear sisters: Irene Clem, Celeste Jedding and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Hannah Davidson and siblings: Jean Caradonna, Robert Stewart, Raymond Stewart, Audrey Bradley, Beverly Clem, & Doris Meyers. 

Visitation will be from 5 PM - 8 PM on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave.,Sayler Park, OH 45233  Mass of Christian Burial will be Sat. July 1, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Aloysius on the Ohio, 134 Whipple, Sayler Park, OH 45233.

On Monday July 3, 2017 we will be meeting at Vine Street Hill Cemetery (Mitchell Ave. Entrance)at 10:45 AM for the Inurnment of Martha's remains at 11 AM in the niche.

Memorials may be made to ALS Association or Hospice of Cincinnati. If you will be attending the visitation or funeral you may do this by seeing a funeral home representative. If you are unable to attend please make check payable to the charity and mail to the funeral home.
