Lawrence Roell Obituary

Lawrence Edward Roell, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Age 89. He was born to the late Elmer J. & Elizabeth (nee Hoerst) Roell on the family farm on Kilby Road. He was one of 8 children to Elmer and Elizabeth. He married Lucille Schuman on August 30, 1952 and they had 12 children: Lois, Martha, Mary, Jerome, Joseph, Leo, Monica, Michael, Larry, Mark, Rose & Rita. Lawrence ran the farm and took each opportunity to be a teacher to his children. He showed them that God and faith must be the most important part of your life. He followed a quote that a nun taught him "God made each of us to know, love and serve Him in this life so that we can live with Him in eternal joy in heaven." He also showed and taught through example that family was equally important and that love was shared to all 12 children and their spouses, 30 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Lawrence also was dedicated, disciplined and hard working which all go hand in hand working on a farm and in every day life. His family and for all of those that knew him will miss his smile, wisdom, jokes, birthday greetings and playing a few hands of cards.
