John "Jack" Kemme

John Edward "Jack" Kemme, Resident of Bright, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Andrew's Nursing Home. Jack was born on March 10, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John Bernard and Marie (nee Metze) Kemme. He served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963. He was blessed with 5 children: Lee Anne, Jill, Susan, John and Tim. Jack was always working, from his day job as a Rigger for a Trucking Company to being on the Bright EMS for 25 years. He enjoyed doing things for others and would help anyone and everyone that he met. Jack also liked a good argument every once in a while. He enjoyed the outdoors, planting flowers in his garden and Nascar races. He was known for partaking in Bourbon Slushies, Twix bars, Wendy's Wednesday's, Pepsi and Chinese food. Jack also had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling a good joke or two.

Those who are left to carry Jack's memory on are his children: Lee Anne (Doug) Dole, Jill Kemme, Susan Kemme, John (Kathy) Kemme, and Tim Kemme; Cherished grandchildren: Max, Nate & Shelby Dole, Anthony, Ashley, & Alex Petersman, Andrew, Adam, Austin, Laini and Ally Kemme; Dear siblings: Claire (Chuck) Schultze, Barb Hoffmeister, Richard "Dick" Kemme; Sister-in-law: Claire Kemme; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents: John and Marie Kemme; Brother William "Bill" Kemme and Sister Rita Wagner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Harrison, OH. Father Johnathan Meyer officiating. Burial to follow at St. Johns Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 199 where he was a member.

Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital. Bring your donation to the visitation or Mass and give to a funeral home representative. If you are unable to come send your donation to the funeral home and they will notify the family of your donation and mail to the selected charity.
