Jean Hoferer Obituary

Jean M. (nee Wolfer) Hoferer, AGE 82. Resident of Sayler Park. Passed away on September 15, 2015.
Jean was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 17, 1933 to William and Helen (née Gangloff) Wolfer. Jean was born one of five girls in the Wolfer Family. The family was raised in the home next to St. Aloysius On-the-Ohio church and school. That same home is now the library for the school. Jean met William "Bill" Hoferer when they both worked at the Jergens Company. They became best friends and married on November 7, 1953 at St. Aloysius Church. Bill and Jean raised seven children at their Gracely Drive residence while being active volunteers at the St. Aloysius church and school. Jean's tenure at the library spanned 48 years and encouraged many children to read and learn. Jean was the epitome of a people person, knowing someone, everywhere she went. She instilled a love of family, a love of reading and a love of learning to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and everyone she touched.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Hoferer; her parents, and infant sister Susan Wolfer.

Survivors include her children: Teresa "Terri" (Richard) Schneider, Bill (Catherine) Hoferer, Beth (Mike) Van Oflen, Patrick (Dawn) Hoferer, Amy (Jeff) Linneman, Tom (Chris) Hoferer, Susan (David) Backscheider. She loved her grandchildren as they referred to her as "Mama Hof". Grandchildren include: Megan (Jon) Dinnesen, Maria and David (Tara) Schneider, Emily & Will Hoferer, Laura (Nick) Kelly, Patrick & Benjamin(Molly) Van Oflen, Anna Hoferer, Maggie, Leah & Jeffrey Linneman, Jacob, Rachel & Catherine Hoferer & Paige Backscheider; Great Grandchildren: Ian & Hope Dinnesen & Andrew Schneider. She was a cherished sister of: Wilma (Carl) Wuest, Mary Lou (Jerry) Knight, Marty (Steve) Martini. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many children that she has shared her love of reading with over the past 45+ years.
