Helen Faye Goins

Helen Faye (nee Snelling) Goins, Age 85, of Sayler Park, passed away January 16, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Helen was born in Petersburg, Kentucky on May 9, 1929 to the late John and Jennie (nee Acra) Snelling. She was one of nine children born to John and Jennie and the last surviving child. She met and married the Paul Taylor and they hand two daughters: Belinda and Jennie. Helen later divorced Paul and married Roger Goins. She was a wonderful mother and was a hard worker. Helen worked for a Pharmaceutical company and processed orders. She always loved to shop and taught her daughters and granddaughters how to shop for a bargain. She had expensive tastes but always got them on sale. Helen also taught her daughters how to be independent and self supportive. She had a big heart and would cook dinner and give to neighbors.

Survivors include her daughters: Belinda Backscheider and Jennie Osborn; wonderful grandchildren: Holly (John) Hock, Johnathan Hodges,and Gary Wayne Hodges, Jr.; Great grandchildren: Gary W. III, and Alexis Hodges, and Lexi Rosen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Goins in 1987, parents: John & Jennie Snelling, granddaughter: Shannon Taylor and her 8 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10 AM in the Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave, Sayler Park, OH 45233. Graveside services will follow at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, KY.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA through the funeral home. You may bring your donation to the funeral and give to a funeral home representative or mail your donation to the funeral home.
