Grace V (nee Baldock) Sandman. AGE 86 of Harrison. Passed away February 7, 2015.
She was born December 1, 1928 to the late Frank and Bessie (nee DeRoo) Baldock. Grace had 6 brothers and sisters: Leroy, Betty Shirley, Frank, Milton and George. She married Donald E. Sandman on January 21, 1950 and they had two children Vivian and Lawrence. Grace and Don were active members of the Circus Fans of America. When the children were young she was always helping out in Cub Scouts and other volunteer roles. Grace was a member of the order of Eastern Star and many people in Harrison would remember Grace as the head of the Jewelry department at Kmart. She was a long time member at St. Peter & St. Paul United Church of Christ. Grace was a gardener and loved growing fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers. Grace was very crafty and would always be making something. She made the best pies and no one can make an upside down Pineapple cake like she did.
Beloved wife of the late Donald E. Sandman. Loving mother of Vivian (Wayne) Bowman and Lawrence (Susan) Sandman. Dear grandmother of Angela Fette, Benjamin, Andrew, Daniel and William Sandman and 9 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Betty Westermeyer, Shirley Oliver and the late Leroy, Frank, Milton & George Baldock. Passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015. Residence Harrison OH. Age 86. Grace was a member of St. Peter & St. Paul UCC and the Order of the Eastern Star. Visitation will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 PM in the Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030.
