Ethan McCoy Obituary
Ethan James, age 21 of West Harrison, IN. Passed away May 1, 2015 in Miami, Florida. Ethan was loved by everyone that knew him. He went to Franklin Co. High School his Freshman through Junior year and transferred to East Central his Senior year. Ethan was the Kicker on the football team and loved football. He also acted in many plays and played the piano for fun. Ethan enjoyed snowboarding, and became a lover of wake boarding after moving to Florida. He recently was certified as a scuba diver. His life long dream was to be an Air traffic Controller and that is what he was working towards through the National Guard. Young children were drawn to his fun loving personality and he always loved volunteering for the Special Olympics. He had a beautiful smile that could lift anyone's spirit.
Survivors include his loving parents: John Anthony and Lori (nee Cornett) McCoy; cherished siblings: Blake & Kelsey; devoted grandmother: Joy Cornett; dear aunts & uncles: Tim McCoy, Kevin (Tanner) Cornett & Tammy McCoy; loving great uncle: Dale Cox; special cousins: Ellie Cornett, Jason McCoy, Keeley McCoy, Logan McCoy, Erin McCoy, Fallon McCoy & Maximos McCoy; loving girlfriend: Amanda Hamlin and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Leon McCoy & Patricia (nee Nelms) McCoy.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison Ohio 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Harrison Ohio 45030. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Speical Olympics through the funeral home.
