Edwin William McKain

Edwin William, age 92, resident of Harrison, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was born on December 16, 1921 to parents Harry & Irene (nee Cosby) McKain. Edwin attended Aurora High School and graduated in 1942. Following graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and served our country from 1942-1945. On January 1, 1948, Edwin married Irene Benning and they had four children, Karen, Gregory, Tim and Mark. Edwin spent most of his working years as the owner of McKain Heating & Cooling, and was a lifelong member of the Miami Whitewater United Methodist Church. He and Irene enjoyed taking trips and traveling the United States. He enjoyed fishing and flying. In most recent years, Edwin would fly around in an "ultra-light" plane. Many people would describe Edwin as a "Jack of all trades", because of his vast array of knowledge. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Those surviving who will honor Edwin's memory are his loving wife of 66 years: Irene (nee Benning) McKain; cherished children: Karen (Ken) Brech, Gregory (Debbie) McKain, and Mark McKain; former daughter-in-law: Mary McBride; 10 loving grandchildren, and 14 loving great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry & Irene (nee Cosby); loving son: Tim McKain; and 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Miami Whitewater United Methodist Church, by mailing your donation to the funeral home.
