Charles F. Rolfes, age 90, resident of Harrison Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015. He was born in Harrison, Ohio on October 12, 1924 to parents: Edward & Mary Theresa (nee Otto) Rolfes. Charles was 1 of 9 children. After graduating from Harrison High School, he joined the United States Army and served our country during WWII from March 1943 to March 1946. When he returned home, he attended college and married Norma (nee Pfaff) on April 26, 1952. They had 4 children: Cindy, Brent, Jeff & Greg. Charles spent his working years as an Aircraft Engine Test Manager, at General Electric. He retired after 35 years of service. Charles loved to golf and play cards. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing softball and coaching his sons' baseball teams. He was proud to be a Thoroughbred. Charles family was most important to him. He will be remembered by most people for his jokes and pranks.
Those surviving who will honor Charles' memory include loving wife: Norma (nee Pfaff); beloved chidren: Cindy (Dave) Lyness, Brent (Robbin), Jeff (Teri) & Greg Rolfes; devoted grandchildren: Angie (Nick) White, Mark (Mary Miller) Lyness, Craig Lyness, Kristi (Tom) Tully, Jessie (Tim) Doll, Eric, Chris, Patrick & Nick Rolfes; loving great grandchildren: Bailey, Collin, Abbey, & Emma Tully, Connor White & Allison Doll; cherished siblings: Joseph (Marge) Rolfes, Ray (Willa) Rolfes, & Thelma (Carl) Greenham; and loving sister-in-law: Peg Rolfes.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward & Mary Theresa (nee Otto) Rolfes, and siblings: Robert Rolfes, Helen Yeager, Lewis Rolfes, Eleanor Acra, & Mary Sauntry-Wessels.
Visitation will be Mon., Feb. 9, 2015 from 10AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM, at St. John the Baptist Church, 509 Harrison Ave., Harrison, OH 45030. Memorial donations may be made to ALS Foundation or the Parkinson's Disease Association through the funeral home.
