Catherine Beardsley Obituary

Catherine C. (nee Nowlin) AGE 82. Resident of Harrison, Ohio. Passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was born February 17, 1932 to Thomas J. & Margaret (nee Getz) Nowlin and she was 1 of 9 children. On Decemeber 16, 1967, Catherine married Lester Edelbert Beardsley and they had one daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Ann. Catherine spent most of her life as a homemaker & babysitting for many nieces, nephews and other children. She loved watching them play softball and baseball, and attending birthday parties. Catherine enjoyed socializing with the neighbors and walking around the block. She was the "matriarch" of her family, always willing to sacrifice something, to give and provide to her family and extended family. Many times, she opened up her home to family members when they needed some "help". Her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Ann was her pride and joy, and loved her very much. Catherine was truly a gift from God, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Those surviving who will honor Catherine's memory include cherished daughter: Margaret "Peggy" Ann Beardsley; beloved siblings Leonard Nowlin, Florence Helms, Norma McConnell, and Mary Messerschmidt; brother-in-law: John Richards; sister-in-law: June Nowlin, and many nieces, nephews, friends & extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas J. & Margaret (nee Getz) Nowlin; husband: Lester Edelbert Beardsley; siblings: Walter Nowlin, Joseph Nowlin, Thomas Nowlin Jr., and Elda Richards; sister-in-law: Joyce Nowlin; and brothers-in-law: Richard Helms, and Jake Messerschmidt; and companion: Kenneth "Loren" Bibee.

Visitation will be Friday July 25, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Funeral Service will be Saturday July 26, 2014 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the family, through the funeral home.
